City of Križevci have been known for its wine and wine traditions. This is evidenced by renowned "Statutes of Križevci" since 16th century, wine statutes according gatherings are organized. Slopes of Kalnik are sunly drenched and especially suitable for the cultivation of Croatian traditional continental varieties, among which the Graševina of Križevci is known from the time of Maria Theresa. Vineyards in Križevci currently spread over 66.47 hectares, and another 7 hectares has been prepared for the planting of new vineyards.
