Križevci :: Parish Church of St. Ana and the Pauline Monastery

Parish Church of Saint Ana and the Pauline Monastery are both located in the centre of the town on the main street of Ivan Zakmardi Dijankovečki.

It was built in 1689 as part of the Pauline Monastery. The founder of the Pauline Monastery in Križevci was the prothonotary Ivan Zakmardi whose initiative also founded the first Gymnasium which was granted its Charter by king Leopold II in 1674. In 1786, Emperor Joseph II abolished the Pauline order and the Church
of St. Ana became the Parish Church, while the monastery was transformed to a Rectory and Town Hall.
